Three Pierce City High School runners earned trips to state with strong performances at the Class 2 District 2 Cross Country Meet this past Saturday.
Eli Adams led the Eagles with an outstanding 10th-place finish out of 126 boys, placing among the top runners in a competitive field. Joseph Leavitt also secured a state berth with a 25th-place finish. Together with their teammates, they helped the Pierce City boys finish seventh out of 15 teams.
In the girls race, Katy Leavitt earned an impressive 23rd-place finish out of 99 runners, securing her spot at the state meet.
The three qualifiers will represent Pierce City at the Missouri High School State Cross Country Meet this Friday in Columbia. Their accomplishments reflect the hard work, determination, and miles of preparation they have put into this season.
Congratulations to all our Eagles on their district performances, and best of luck to Eli, Joseph, and Katy as they compete at state!
