This past summer, Pierce City students Keenan Kleiboeker and Katelynn Hanson had the opportunity to represent their school and community at Missouri Boys State and Missouri Girls State.

Keenan attended Missouri Boys State, where his School of Instruction focused on Law. During the week, he served as a Delegate to the County Committee for Ward III, Chief of Police, Sheriff, and Attorney. He was also nominated for Citizen of the Week and earned first place in the City Athletic Competition.

Katelynn attended Missouri Girls State and participated in the School of Commerce. Throughout the program, she had the opportunity to learn more about government, citizenship, leadership, and community involvement while connecting with students from across Missouri.

Missouri Boys State and Girls State are summer programs designed to give students hands-on experience with government and civic leadership. Participants take an active role in the programs while developing leadership skills and learning more about the responsibilities of citizenship.

Pierce City Schools is proud of Keenan and Katelynn for representing our district and taking advantage of this unique learning and leadership experience!
