Pierce City Eagles Shine at MSHSAA Class 2 State Championships

The Pierce City Eagles Track & Field teams wrapped up an outstanding season with strong performances at the MSHSAA Class 2 State Championships. Competing against the best athletes in Missouri, the Eagles brought home multiple state medals and represented Pierce City with pride and determination.

Leading the way for the boys team was Eli Genzler, who earned All-State honors with a 3rd place finish in the 300m hurdles. Genzler also placed 10th in the 110m hurdles.

Brock Flehmer added another state medal for the Eagles with a 7th place finish in pole vault, while Levi Knight narrowly missed the medal stand with an 11th place finish in the same event.

Kordel McBlair competed in both throwing events, placing 14th in discus and 16th in shot put.

The boys 4x400m relay team of Kellen Avondet, Max Brown, Parker Myers, and Eli Genzler finished 15th overall in the state.

The Lady Eagles continued their impressive postseason success by finishing 15th out of 52 schools represented at the state meet.

Liliana Lasker earned two state medals, placing 5th in the 400m dash and 8th in the 200m dash.

Emma Hunt also earned two medals with a 6th place finish in the 3200m run and a 7th place finish in the 1600m run.

Paige Fenske had an exceptional meet, earning three state medals with a 6th place finish in triple jump, 8th place in pole vault, and 8th place in long jump.

Addison Avondet competed in both hurdle events, placing 12th in the 300m hurdles and 13th in the 100m hurdles.

In relay competition, the girls 4x400m relay team of Paige Fenske, Sophie Prater, Addison Avondet, and Liliana Lasker placed 12th overall. The girls 4x800m relay team of Sofia Cruz, Sophie Prater, Katy Leavitt, and Emma Hunt finished 13th in the state.

Additional performances included Grace Broderick placing 13th in high jump and Elizabeth Sharp placing 12th in discus.

The Eagles closed out another memorable season filled with conference championships, district titles, sectional success, and state-level performances. Congratulations to all athletes and coaches on an incredible year representing Pierce City with excellence.
