
Pierce City Archery Teams Shine at State, Qualify for Nationals
The Pierce City Archery program had an outstanding week at the State Archery tournament, with multiple teams and individual archers earning top honors and national qualification.
Teams Advancing to Nationals
The High School Bullseye and 3D teams both earned the right to advance to Nationals this May, along with the Junior High Bullseye team. This marks an impressive accomplishment for the program and reflects the dedication of the athletes and coaches alike.
Individual Highlights
Jesse Lombard stood out as the top male archer at the high school level. In the 3D competition, Jesse scored 284, placing him 34th out of 466 high school boys (top 7%). In Bullseye, he scored 289, ranking 22nd out of 690 high school boys (top 3%) and earning 2nd place among Freshman Boys.
Elizabeth Sharp led the high school female archers. She scored 273 in 3D (70th out of 339, top 20%) and 276 in Bullseye, also placing her in the top 20% of high school girls.
At the junior high level, Emri Sperandio achieved a personal best in Bullseye with a score of 275, the top score for Pierce City junior high girls, placing 50th out of 729 (top 6%). Zander Yang also performed well, scoring 272, which ranked him 119th out of 1,020 junior high boys (top 12%).
Other Notable Performances
Several other archers achieved personal bests and strong finishes:
Eli Adams – Top 25% in 3D; 282 in Bullseye (96th out of 690 high school boys)
Harper Merritt – Top 25% in both 3D and Bullseye (277)
Cohen Cunningham – Personal best in Bullseye with a 263, placing in the top 27% of junior high boys
Looking Ahead
The Pierce City Archery program will now turn its focus to Nationals, where these talented athletes will represent the school and continue to showcase their skill and dedication. The coaching staff and community are extremely proud of the achievements of all the archers this season.
