The Pierce City Eagles hosted the Diamond Wildcats Tuesday March 24th. It was quite the hitters game as the final score was 18-8 in 6 innings. Hunter Tindell pitched a good game for the Eagles but at times the defense could not back him up. For the Wildcats the walk and hit by pitch haunted them. The Eagles also tallied numerous runs on wild pitches including 2 back to back in the 5th inning.

The 1st innings the Wildcats jumped on the Eagles with a 2 out solo Home Run. The Eagles responded rather quickly with a leadoff hit by Hunter Hatfield and a bunt single by Aaron Garner. The Wildcats walked Bill Ashley, then Hunter Tindell had a sacrifice fly, scoring Hunter Hatfield. The Eagles then found a way to come up with 2 more runs that innings to lead 3-1. In the middle innings the Eagles offense was highlighted by a Bill Ashley 2-run Homerun a couple of solid line drives to score. Dallas Kleiboeker, Donell Kleiboeker, and Gage Brown all took charge in the middle innings.

In the 5th the Wildcats would score 3 runs taking advantage of a couple misplays by the Eagle defense. Late in the inning Dallas Kleiboeker made a fantastic sliding catch with the bases loaded to end the inning and save a couple runs. The Eagles would then score a couple more runs to make the score 10-8. In the 6th Donell Kleiboeker shut the Wildcats down on 15 pitches. The Eagles would score 8 runs in the bottom of the 6th to end the game on a run rule. The clinching run came on a Gage Brown line drive scoring Donell Kleiboeker.

The Eagles next game is at Purdy starting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25th. Then, on Thursday, the 26th the Eagles will travel to Crane at 5 as well.
