Eagles Hit Two Home Runs in Route to Victory

On Tuesday, March 20, the Eagles traveled to Purdy for the second day in a row, this time to play Purdy. With Aaron Garner on the mound, the Purdy Eagles jumped on them early creating a 2 run lead. Pierce City’s offense was not on point this time around. It was 2-0 until the 5th inning when Purdy scattered across one more to extend the lead to 3. Then in the 6th Pierce City’s offense hit its stride. Gage Brown and Aric Zabala came up with two clutch hits to make it 3-1. Then, with Aric on 2nd Gabriel George got his first hit of the season which happened to be a 2 run home run to tie the game. At 3-3, Garner went back out there. He walked the 1st batter, so his day was done. Bill Ashley came in relief and got the job done, only giving up 1 run. In the bottom of the 7th, Aaron lead off the inning with a double. 1 batter later Hunter Tindell came up to the plate. On the 1st pitch from Kyler Propps, Tindell lined a ball over the right field fence. Pierce City won the game on a walk-off 2 run home run!

The Eagles next game is at 7:00pm in Purdy as they look to win the Purdy Tournament.
